Storms are intensifying, runoff is increasing, and floodplains that once absorbed high water have been filled, drained, and built upon. The result is more flooding, more erosion, and more risk to the people and infrastructure in the path of moving water. We help clients understand that risk and develop solutions that manage it, not by working against the natural aquatic systems, but by working with them.
Analyze, Evaluate, Then Design
Every water resources project begins with a clear look at existing conditions. We work alongside our clients to characterize how water moves through a site or watershed today, using field assessment, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and flood risk analysis to quantify what's happening and why. From there we develop and evaluate alternatives together, weighing performance, cost, permitting, and long-term maintenance, so the design we deliver is the right solution for the problem, not just a familiar one.

Most engineering firms treat water as a problem to be conveyed off-site as quickly as possible. We see it differently. Our objective on every project is to protect, preserve, and enhance water resources while prioritizing public safety and aquatic habitat, and we don't believe those goals compete. A well-designed stormwater control measure reduces downstream flooding and improves water quality. A resilient floodplain protects a neighborhood and reconnects a stream to its habitat. That dual perspective, grounded in ecology as much as engineering, is what sets our work apart.
